About “theidolbabbler”

Welcome to “theidolbabbler”!

I am a father of two sons and a daughter (now adults), and I have been married since 1991. My wife became a Christian in 2000, and then The Lord converted me in 2001. At the suggestion of a friend in September of 2013, I started blogging and “theidolbabbler” was born. The purpose of “theidolbabbler” is to encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ.

(And, yes. That is an actual fortune, from a fortune cookie, that I got one night while the family got take-out… Praise God!)

Writing is my way of praising the inexhaustible God…

Psalms 71:15 (HCSB)
My mouth will tell about Your righteousness
and Your salvation all day long,
though I cannot sum them up.

Why “theidolbabbler”?

In the 17th chapter of the Book of Acts, the Apostle Paul is called an “idle babbler” by the listening crowd as he shares the Gospel message. Sometimes, I have felt the same while attempting to tell people about Jesus Christ, about the profoundness of His resurrection, and who He is. So, I did a play on words. As a former idolator, I now babble about what I have learned since walking with Christ. That’s how I got the name.

Godspeed, to the brethren!
