Jealousy

Jealousy describes the experience of not being loved by the one you love. Of course, God is jealous! His image bearers reject Him, even though they know better…

Romans 1:18-22 (NASB)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools…

So, we ought to not be fools, but change our mind (repent) for our sin.

What is sin?

James 4:17 (NASB)
Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

But, not only repent. We must also trust (believe) in Jesus Christ…

Romans 10:9-11 (NASB)
…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

When one repents and trusts in Christ, one then becomes a new creature…

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Only new creatures love as their Lord loves, and when they do, the commandments are kept; the law is fulfilled…

Romans 13:10 (NASB)
Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
